Weight and volume converter

Turn tonnes into cubic metres, cubic yards into tonnes, and any amount into the area it covers, for each material in this handbook.

Weight and volume converter

How it is worked out

Weight = volume × weight per m³. A loose cubic metre weighs less than a compacted one: that is the loose ÷ finished factor (see 1.4).

1 m³ = 1.308 yd³ = 35.3 ft³ = 1,000 L. 1 t = 1.102 US tons = 2,205 lb.
