Paving sand calculator

Bedding sand, joint sand and the number of pavers or slabs for any area and any paver size.

Paving sand calculator

How it is worked out

Pavers per m² = 1 m² ÷ ((length + joint) × (width + joint)). The joints are the rest of the surface; joint sand = that share × paver thickness × the sand's weight.

A 30 mm bedding layer of sand takes about 50 kg per m². 200 × 100 × 60 mm pavers with 3 mm joints take about 4 kg of joint sand per m² (see 3.3 and 3.4).
